Aspiring Medics

Aspire2medicine

I represent a group of Doctors and medical educators, who having been through the medical application process have realised that there is a real lack of availability of good quality information about becoming a Doctor.  Our 'Get into Medical School and Become a Doctor' course will empower students to achieve their ambition by demystifying the application process, giving them the essential knowledge and skills to succeed.  We endeavour to increase access for those who may otherwise have been put off applying, whilst better informing those that may be more suited to other career pathways.

Our interactive seminars will be delivered by a variety of experienced medical professionals, all of whom currently work in the NHS as senior doctors but are still fresh enough to remember what it feels like to apply to medical school.  Additionally, sitting on interview panels at prominent Medical Schools gives us a unique perspective on the differing challenges facing medical school applicants, from the quality of personal statements to interview skills.

We'll give students a taste of what life as a medical student is really like, both academically and socially, from the eyes of current medical students.  Real Doctors will give a glimpse of their life in the NHS and talk about the types of personalities that are suited to different specialities in medicine.  The course includes information about applying through UCAS, a guide on writing medically orientated personal statements, how to choose universities and how to pass entrance examinations.

A further course covering Medical School Interview Skills will be held prior to the commencement of medical interviews.

There are three Courses during September; Leicester (14th September – prices in brackets), University College London (21st September) and Kings College London Guys Campus (28th September).

Course tickets are £50 per ticket and include a light lunch (if booked more than two weeks before the course), but for bookings of over five tickets please email us direct for discounts. We are also able to provide bespoke seminars for institutions directly if required so if you would like further information on this or anything else please do not hesitate to contact us.

To book a Course go to www.aspire2medicine.co.uk or search Facebook for “Aspire 2 Medicine” and choose the Venue and Date you are interested in attending.  By clicking 'Join', we will not only keep you updated with course information, but you will be entered into our competition for two free tickets to that talk.

I have attached a Course Flyer detailing the event. Please could you circulate this to whomever you feel may benefit, including career’s advisors, science departments and interested students to help us reach as many potential future medics as possible.

Warmest Regards

The AspireTeam
