Competition Hong Kong: A Dream Destination for University!

 

What is it about?

Are you in 6th form, and ever thought of spending some time in Hong Kong over the summer?  Well here’s your chance.

 

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office London is offering 6th form students (year twelve and thirteen) the chance to do a summer course at a Hong Kong university.

 

To get the chance to have this amazing experience contestants are asked to conduct research into reasons why British students should consider Hong Kong as a destination to pursue higher education. The research can be presented on any medium, including essays, through social media, in a blog. Be creative!

 

Entries will be judged on content, creativity and presentation.

How much will it cost me?

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office will cover:

 

• Return air tickets (economy class) between London Heathrow and Hong Kong;
• Tuition fees for your time in Hong Kong; and
• Accommodation costs for the duration of the course.

As a competition winner you will be expected to cover your own visa application fee, travel insurance, meal costs and other local transportation costs.

 

 

Am I eligible?

To be eligible for the competition, you must be:

 

• A British citizen and fluent English speaker without right of abode or right to land in Hong Kong
• In full time education at sixth form (year twelve or thirteen) in the UK. Note that the Winners will need to apply for a study visa from the Hong Kong Immigration Department before entering Hong Kong for study.  If below eighteen years of age, the Winner will also need to find a legal guardian (could be the Winner’s relative / friend in Hong Kong) whilst in Hong Kong
• Have parental or guardian consent; and
• Able to support him/herself financially whilst in Hong Kong.

  What is the availability?

  There are five spaces for competition winners available.
   
   

  What is the application deadline?

  The application deadline is 20 May 2013. Result will be announced on 27 May 2013
   
  The trip will be taking place during July 2013 (timing varies between universities)
