What can you do with a Biology Degree?





The Society of Biology provides careers resources for teachers and careers advisors in schools and universities through the UK. Below are some of the free downloadable resources.

The Society of Biology has created new Careers Resource Sheets which can be distributed by teachers and career advisors to students. These contain links to the careers pages of our member organisations showing potential career routes for students in biology.

The Becoming a Biologist: Degrees and Careers in Biology contains information on different types of degree and alternatives to degrees, qualifications you will need to study biology, skills you gain from studying biology, and advice about careers you could do after a biology degree.

Next Steps: Options after a bioscience degree is a new careers guide for biological sciences students and graduates from the Society of Biology and our Member Organisations.

The Bioscience Careers Resource Sheet for Schools contains links to careers websites and to career pathways in biology as well as information on student competitions aimed at young biologists.

The Bioscience Careers Resource Sheet for Undergraduates contains links to different biology specific career paths including links to research councils, further study, graduate jobs and information on student membership to the Society of Biology.
The Make a difference with a career in biology website is a new resource for school students higlighting the range of careers that biologists can go into.

Future Morph is a careers website which contains useful information for secondary school pupils.You can download the Future Morph poster here.

Informed choices is a guide to making decisions about post-16 education produced by the Russell Group.

The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry's flyer has information about the range of resources on their careers website.

The Biochemical Society's: Biochemistry Courses for 2011 is a guide with information on biochemistry degrees and future careers options.
