Scholarships
The University of Bath is proud to be able to offer a range of financial scholarships to athletes who display the potential and desire to achieve success both academically and athletically.
In the 2012-2013 academic year, 23 scholarships were awarded to new and continuing scholars, their selection determined by a panel of senior members from the University of Bath. Key points to consider before applying:
Scholarships will only be awarded to athletes who have been offered and accepted a place on an academic programme at the University.
Applicants can be from a range of sports, and you will be required to provide information and proof of results that indicate potential for elite international performance as well as contributing to British University Championships points (BUCS).
Athletes will be subject to an annual academic and athletic review, designed to offer support and guidance as well as ensuring continued scholarship status and payment. Further criteria can be found on the scholarship application form, which can be downloaded from the link below.

Scholarships we offer
The following Scholarships are available at the University of Bath:
Bill Whiteley Scholarship
Mr William Whiteley a graduate of the University of Bath has agreed to donate a sum of money to the University in order to support one student each year throughout the duration of their degree programme. This student must be academically able, who also has outstanding sporting potential.
Students must be accepted on a full time under-graduate degree of at least three years duration in the school of Management, Faculty of Engineering and Design or the Department of Economics and must be able to make a positive impact on the University’s Sports Standing.
The Trendell Sports Scholarships
The Trendell Sports Scholarships will be awarded annually on a competitive basis to sporting students who have elite performance potential in one of our priority sports, as well as able to contribute to BUCS points.
The Ivor Powell Scholarship
The Ivor Powell Sports Scholarship is available to students who have received a conditional offer at the University of Bath, and display performance potential as an elite international athlete in any sport. Awards are available of up to £1000 per annum for three years.
Santander Sports Scholarship
The Santander Sports Scholarships are available for students who are studying at the University of Bath from the UK, Iberamerican or Iberian Peninsular countries who have the ability to become of have the current status as an elite International athlete.
Santander Bath ITC Scholarship
In 2012 a new Swimming specific Scholarship to support new ITC Swimmers who study at the University was created to help them progress their joint pursuit of academic and swimming excellence at Bath.
The Santander Bath ITC Scholarship award is open to talented new Bath ITC Swimmers who are studying at the University and who are not in receipt of any direct funding through the World Class Programme Athlete Personal Award or a Team Bath High Performance Scholarship Programme Award.
Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS)
TASS is a unique government backed partnership between talented young athletes, educational institutes and National Governing bodies of sport.
The University of Bath supports 70 TASS athletes in more than 25 sports.
